We're Moving

MWOP needs to move–again.

The main site's server traffic has skyrocketed in the past month, and has become too much for our shared server plan with the hosting company. We tried switching hosting companies over the weekend, but we overran that server as well. Our options are to pay for a dedicated server, which is pricey, or to switch domains, preferably to to a site that’s already using dedicated servers.

We have a few days to pack up and move but in the meantime we wanted to let everyone know that our future address will be here, at http://mwopblog.blogspot.com.

For now we're leaving the commenting options wide open, in order for everyone to be able to comment without needing to create a new ID.

  1. Do I smell a rat? This site has been so very quiet lately and its moving again? Seems like there is more to this than that.

  2. Things are quiet because 1) Jennifer shut down her blog and 2) there is nothing "new" going on. Due to the recent spike in server traffic our hosts (the old one and now the new one) have informed us that if we wish to stay with them, we will need to pay for a dedicated server, which is priced anywhere from $100 - $150/month, and this is not in MWOP's budget.

I am all about taking photos during times of crisis, and even when in the hospital, because I feel it documents us as humans and helps to see how far we have come (when the outcome is good). But even I would never take that photo! And if I did I sure wouldn't post it. It totally feels like an exploitation. I haven't liked him for a while and I like him even less now. -Meeples

    3. I am so tired of these bloggers milking their serious illnesses for money, sympathy and fame.

Also, it pisses me off that selfish fuckers like this decide to have kids in spite of medical advice not to. Not only do they generally have children who are born with a myriad of issues that cause them to suffer for the rest of their lives, they want a medal for taking care of said children.

Selfish and distasteful all around, IMO.

      Delete
    4. Thank you for saying that. I always had a bad feeling about them deliberately getting pregnant even when doctors warned them not to, and then using that pregnancy as some kind of a "miracle" story. That poor child will have lifelong medical issues as a result of their selfishness, and the mother (Tricia) nearly died carrying that pregnancy which was not advisable by the doctors for a reason. They knew that she was unable to safely carry a pregnancy to term, and they also knew that baby would be severely premature as a result, yet they were selfish and still wanted to get pregnant. I think they are also selfish to take in a foster kid knowing that Tricia's health is so unstable and that it is likely the foster child will have to be moved to yet another home. I bet they took in the foster kid just for the money anyway knowing Nathan's ways. He is so disgusting the way he exploits his wife and child for sympathy and money and now he's at it again... I feel so sorry for his wife, and wish her nothing but good health.

    5. I know him personally and I will say that is not the case. I admire his wife immensely. They are one of the most kind and giving couple I know.

    7. How is he making money off of his wife's illness? He's never put an ad on his blog that I've seen - and which he could have and then would have made a lot of money. I've only see him use the blog to raise awareness and money for CF research, cancer research and the March of Dimes. I haven't read his blog in years but I did look at the Twitter photo and I agree that it was inappropriate. For the most part though, they seem to be doing the best they can in the face of a horrible situation. I am shocked that the state allowed them to foster a child not because they aren't good parents but because their situation is unstable, which is the last thing a foster child needs.

      Delete
    8. Yeah they do make money off his wife's illness. Sure they raise some money for CF, but the majority of their "fundraising" is for his wife's "trust fund" so that Nate can stay in hotels and eat out while his wife is in the hospital. Why can't he stay in the hospital and sleep on that pull out chair like other family members do??! Tricia's own mother slept on one of those chairs for months while Tricia was in the hospital prior to her transplant. I guess Nate is too good for that.
They sent letters out to church members (where his dad is pastor, and conveniently employs Nate too(yet he rarely works there hmmm) begging for them to donate to Tricia's "trust fund."

He also frequently pimps out his wife's "miracle story and birth" to national magazines, and to other churches to get paid for speaking engagements. And, yes I do feel sorry for that foster child. They are certainly in no position to offer a stable home for another child. Clearly they did it for the money, and even now when Tricia is hospitalized they only take their Bio kid along, and dump the foster kid back in some other home. Let the poor kid just have a stable home, and give up the monthly check. That would really show that they actually care about this kid's life and well being.

    9. Nate is a douch canoe. He only thinks of HIMSELF. I feel sooooo sorry for his wife and hope that she gets her 2nd miracle.

    10. I totally agree with Megan. Has he ever really worked? All I ever see is him posting about hotels or staycations. And I am so sad for him that his wifes health has interrupted 3 or 4 of his vacations. Please. He has a cash cow and is milking it for all its worth.

I could go on and on about the foster child but the bottom line is they should have never been given a child and shame on him for the way they are handling it.

      Delete
    11. Not to stand up for him in any shape way or form, but I spent 10 weeks in the hospital on bed rest. The thought of my husband sleeping on the horrific chair each and every night only brought on more guilt, even though he never once complained.

Watching a loved one go through a horrific, terminal disease is incredibly stressful. I see no problem in him being able to relax and destress with a night away from the hotel and with food.

AND, in most hospitals, children would not be able to stay the night.

The fact that they were given a foster child says a helluva lot about the system.

How else would people prefer him to earn a living? Spend 40-60 hours a week away from his family?

I don't know them, I don't know how I would react in the same situation and I would never judge a family going through that.

      Delete
    12. The fact is that he is a lazy pathetic excuse for a husband. He deliberately got her pregnant despite doctors warning them not to because at the time she was practically dying and on a waiting list for donor lungs. They also warned that Tricia and/or the baby would probably die, but they still went for it, and now call it a "miracle story" that God wanted them to have this baby. What about this poor baby now dealing with lifelong medical problems because of their selfishness?! I can totally see an unintentional situation and having to deal with those medical problems and doing what you can of course to raise that medically fragile child because you have no other choice, but why intentionally inflict those problems on a child just because you are selfish????? That just doesn't sit well with me at ALL.

      Delete
    13. and not just that the innocent child is going to have to live with very serious medical issues her whole life but also that she is probably going to grow up without a mother... Which they knew all along that there was a good chance the mom wouldn't make it even with a transplant.

      Delete
    14. I must have totally missed the part where he alone got her pregnant on purpose. I forgot that it only takes the one person and all.

And how terrible would it be for him to want a piece of his wife to live on after he passes.

There are no guarantees in life. You can have a baby with a perfectly healthy woman and she can die the next day, week, month or year. And you can be perfectly healthy and still have a child with major disabilities.

While her health may have encouraged the risk of both, I am sure their daughter is happy to be alive and will continue to be grateful for that gift into adulthood.

Since I wasn't in their bedroom or a part of their discussions I will not pretend to know who is at fault for the pregnancy or life of their daughter.

      Delete
    15. its not about being in their bedroom or assuming anything..Nate himself wrote all this info on his blog that the ALL the doctors advised AGAINST a pregnancy and that his wife was way too ill to sustain her own life let alone sustain a growing fetus. She ended up having to have a tracheostomy done and was hospitalized and put on a ventilator for the remainder of the pregnancy but was literally dying when they decided to take the baby via C section at 24 weeks. The child spent over 3 months in the NICU and is suffering from long term medical issues because of their selfishness.

I agree that there are no guarantees in life, but this was a situation that they were medically advised against by ALL the top doctors at Duke. Nate even wrote how when some docs found out about the "miracle" pregnancy, they wanted her to abort the baby to save her life ,and of course they refused to do that. And, yes it is selfish to want a piece of your wife to live on at the expense of her health and your child's.

      Delete
    16. What is the picture of? I can't seem to see anything very controversial there.

      Delete
    17. I wasn't in his bedroom either but I was on his blog when he told millions of followers about how they knew they should not but got pregnant anyway and how the Doctors told them that it would not turn out well for the baby or her (and it has not). He told everyone that all of her Doctors wanted her to abort. I really believe she would not be dying today and need a 2nd transplant if she had not gone through with the pregnancy. She damaged her body. Willingly.

      Delete
    18. Didn't he say that they purposely did not use protection?

      Delete
    19. Yep, he did say that. He said it was in "god's hands" if they were to get pregnant or not. He clearly followed God more than the doctors wise advice. I agree that she probably would be a lot healthier if she hadn't damaged her body going thru that pregnancy that almost killed her and the baby. I do feel quite badly for her, and I hope that she can get new lungs. I just think her husband is an asssssswipe. He also loves to dramatize everything. A few months ago he posted a dramatic blogpost and said that she was so weak and her immunity was so severely compromised that now she had to wear a mask and they couldnt be around anyone while she was getting some new treatment. BUT, then all he did was post photos of them at different outings, dining out, and church among tons of people! He will defintely milk this for all he can, and god forbid he loses his wife, he will write a book and try to follow in Matt Logelin's footsteps as the martyr widower raising a daughter alone. I pray for his wife, but he just plain disgusts me.

    20. In response to the Anonymous at 10:53am and this particular statement:

"How else would people prefer him to earn a living? Spend 40-60 hours a week away from his family?"

YES! That's what most people have to do. My 6 year old is at the end stage of his terminal condition and my husband works 60-70 hours per week. He works his butt off to provide both money & insurance for our family so that we can take care of our son (& other children). Most parents have to work even when there's a major illness in the family. It SUCKS, but that's how it often is. It is a huge blessing if they are gifted money and I don't begrudge anyone getting help when their spouse or child is in the hospital and they NEED to take time off work to be there, but yes, I do think Nate should be working when Tricia is not in the hospital. I understand that circumstances arise where people truly do need to rely on the kindness of strangers to help, but it shouldn't be something that goes on for years, in my opinion. When that happens, it appears like laziness on the part of the non-working adult & taking advantage of a situation, even if that isn't what they think they're doing.

      https://twitter.com/NathanLawrenson/status/255747319033651200

Also, he wrote that they had "stopped trying" (on the doctors' advice) when Tricia got pregnant.

      Delete
    24. They perhaps stopped "trying" but they also said they did not prevent it. Go figure. Poor Tricia. I am praying for her. Her hubby is a douche.

      Delete
    25. Tricia is not innocent in the decision to bring a child into the world, IMO. They both are selfish.

I'm sorry she's ill - truly. Terminal illness is cruel and unfair.

But it's equally cruel and unfair to have a child AGAINST DOCTOR'S ORDERS and to know full well the child will not be born healthy. They CHOSE to have a child who now suffers from life-long medical issues. Tricia doesn't like living with her disease; how selfish of her to have chosen to have a child knowing she was condemning them to a lifetime of ill health.

She and her husband milk her CF and their daughter's illnesses for all they're worth.

Who cares, certainly not the child! I thought Compassion was done with her anyway, why would they even entertain that thought?? Im actually shocked she is even still paying for those sponsored kids!!

  13. And just think...if she hadn't filed for a bogus bankruptcy and actually tried to pay back some of her debts she wouldn't be in such DEEP DEEP doo-doo. Guess what Jenn, the meeting went well!

No blog, no public instagram, it must be like being in detox for her. Sure a hit or two of Facebook can ease the need for public attention a bit but it can't take the place of her blog where she could carefully sculpt her ideal version of reality and bask in the glow of self-denial without much intrusion.

Don't you feel badly for her? All those hundreds of thousands of dollars and moderate "fame" and all she has to show for it is an overpriced C4D house, diet pills, debt, IRS trouble, other legal woes, a husband who is willing to run away from her and the kids, public humiliation and a name synonymous with being a liar and a fraud. It would be a tragic story if she she hadn't done ALL of this to herself.

  15. Oh Happy Day!!!! How sweet it is to see McSpendy have to take responsibility for her debts. Knowing her though she will put off her creditors for another year, keep racking up the debt while she spends frivolously, and then quietly file bankruptcy again in a year. This time with no Barbara Bowel Movement to alert the state. But, until then, what a sweet victory for The United States, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and this hard working taxpayer. Justice wins.

    1. Even if she files again, her current debts can never be discharged. She's stuck with them forever. She could only claim any debts post-filing.

      Delete
  16. So what debts will she actually have to pay back? She's not going to have to pay for the houses that were repossessed, presumeably. How much of the $750 was unsecured debt?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She will have to pay for the difference between the selling price of the last house and the debt. She is also accountable for every debt she's incurred. Her creditors will have to go after her but she is accountable. If they get a judgement against her then they can have her wages garnished. She may be able to work out deals or payment plans but none of the debt goes away now or ever.

  22. Here is the problem I have with the whole "new" bankruptcy issue. Yes they "have to pay back the debt" but honestly WHO is going to make them do it? Ok, so the blog can be sold, but she tanked that. Yes Izzy's and her incomes can be garnished but come on she isn't filing a 1099 (or what ever the number) and he can always quit. Also while they can't file bankruptcy on the current debts couldn't they file them on the judgements that WILL come when they fail to pay them now. Those would technically be considered "NEW" since they are judgements.

My personal opinion is this--she got away with this like she gets away with everything else and she knows it. They withdrew their petition so there is now technically no fraud. In the US there is no debtors prison so really this is the end...she wins yet again.

  32. Girlfriend needs to learn some new tricks. The whole car accident medical drama to deflect attention away from financial news is really worn out.

  33. The whole timing of the car accident posting is just odd. It looks like she would have posted that around midnight/1 am and this happened much earlier in the day. She posted the vaccine debate before that without saying anything about the accident. I just don't get it?!? It has to be an attention thing.

  34. Im sure glad she was able to hold on to her phone during that wild ride @@@.and wouldn't a normal person at least say what caused it? Especially a one car wreck, as she is inferring?

    1. Now I have images of her sitting upside down in her car posting to facebook about vaccines before crawling out. Thanks for the giggle!

  35. I've said it before, I'll say it again. She is scary-ass crazy and I worry terribly for those kids that their mother will go blithely out and create two car accidents for attention. Jesus Christ, those kids are mentally/emotionally screwed being raised by her.

  39. Why doesn't someone call the local tow truck place and ask if they were the ones that pulled a SUV out of the ditch yesterday?

  41. Did JM ever register her car in Wisconsin? Did she ever get a Wisconsin driver's license?

If emergency services were called to the scene of accident, the event will eventually show up on an emergency services record. When I checked yesterday, the listings were several days behind. We can wait and see.

I'm beginning to think, in the midst of their financial mess, this crazy couple decided they wanted a new car and needed to create a story to cover their purchase. They know their income and assets will be taken soon. Maybe they gave someone cash to buy a car for them and leave it registered in another name. There's a lot, a lot of crazy scheming going on in that house.

  42. Why does her instagram come up as private now? All of a sudden she wants to keep her life private? I have been a long time mwop lurker and am just amazed and appalled at her and how she lives her life tangled in lies. Ugh. Thank you to Anja for moving the site and keeping it going...mwop provides a lot of much needed distraction for me in a time of craziness even though I never post.

  43. I have a site suggestion. Maybe we can move to a message board format? Like Proboards or forumotion? That way, threads of discussion are easier to navigate and there is also the ability to post links to documents and such.

I have a hard time following here and that darn captcha thing never lets me post.

This would also solve the server issue.

    Again, just a suggestion... :)

    1. Hmmm..no captcha this time. Love it!

All I have to say about her latest car wreck: Thank the Lord the kids were not in the car hanging out of the sunroof!!!!!!!! What the hell is wrong with this woman. I totally think she was reading her FB comments because she can't be away from social media for 10 minutes to pick up her children from school! I am glad she is ok...thank God. I would never ever want anything bad happen to her and her family like that, but she needs to put the damn phone down!

EXACTLY! If I am wrong about her checking her phone, I am sorry. However, I really don't believe she is without her face in her phone 24/7 no matter what. She has a serious problem with social media - especially she admitted her blog was her idol. I can't help but think she has a truly serious problem and needs help for it. If I am wrong, I apologize. But how does someone tumble, twist and turn into random ditches and hills 2 times within a year without another car being involved. She's not paying attention! She's taking pics while driving as she has shown us time and time again. It's really ridiculous. She is going to kill someone!

  58. Since she has shut down her blog, she has put her kids out the sunroof, on the roof, hinted at pregnancy, and had a MacGyver- style crash. She's gonna blow something up soon, I'm positive.

I looked at LaCrosse Tribune's police blotter and saw no calls to her country road. Anyone else want to try?

  59. This lady is straight up crazy! I want to know why no one is questioning her on facebook or on IG! How in the world was she in a full on debate about vaccines as she is driving or "crashing"? I am so confused, but no one else on FB seems to be. i don't get it at all. And if she has a splitting headache, wouldn't she be trying to sleep in a dark room instead of facebooking? She is CRAY-CRAY!
